Jay Stewart

Jay Stewart is the Founding and Lead Pastor of The Refuge Church, located in the Charlotte, North Carolina region. The Refuge Church started in a basement in April of 2004 and in its first nine months experienced rapid growth from forty original members to over four hundred. Today The Refuge Church is a multi-site church reaching thousands each week. The Refuge’s mission is to BE the church and not just DO church, stemming from Jay’s desire to see an army of people raised up who would interweave Christ likeness into every area of life. Jay currently serves on numerous church and ministry boards across the nation, speaks to leaders regularly in conferences and various settings, and serves as a coach to other pastors and church planters. His latest book with co-author Derrick Hawkins is Welded: Forming Racial Bonds That Last (iDisciple, 2020).
